Today is a big day! Tom and I have made a goal to run one marathon per year.
Not fast.
Not intensely.
Just to finish it each year.
The idea is that if we start this habit now when we’re young and keep at it, this goal will help us stay fit and healthy for the rest of our lives.
My view from the trees after crossing the finish line and collapsing on the grass.
This year we both got our PR! Tom finished in 4 hours and 19 minutes and I finished in 4 hours and 52 minutes.
I was doing really well except for the last 2 miles! Somehow the last 2.2 miles took me over 37 minutes 😢 but oh well, I’ve never finished one this fast before!
It definitely helps that I didn’t have a sprained IT band, wasn’t pregnant, and wasn’t breastfeeding! And the whole beginning was downhill too 😊
Sadly my physical casualty was my left foot :( not feeling too good now. Hopefully it gets better soon!
