Every January, I think about the Roman god Janus. He's linked with doors, gates, opposites, transitions, and beginnings and endings. That's where January got its name. Janus is a god that looks back on the past with one face while looking on at the future with the other. I think about Janus on January 1st and try to do the same. Where was I a year ago? Where will I be next year?

I've learned a lot in 2013. The year started out in Poznan, Poland doing homemade facemasks with Elizabeth Bown and ended yelling and laughing with some friends on a dance floor in Salt Lake City, Utah.
I learned that I need to be more patient.
I learned that paragliding is AWESOME.
And that making new friends is even awesomer.
I learned that God answers prayers.
And that sometimes it's best to just be friends.
I learned that timing is important.
And it's ok to make mistakes. That's how we learn and grow and become stronger.
I learned it is a weird thing to have a scorpion sit on your tongue.
And it's even weirder that my best friend has a baby!
But most of all, (here's the secret)
1. roll with the punches
2. live it up and
3. LOVE life!
And then life will love you.
That's all tonight from my shout-to-the-world, folks.
Good night and Happy New Year!!
