This morning we left the center early to go to the city of david! We spent awhile looking at the ruins of the walls of the city and we talked about how the Assyrians camped down in the Kidron Valley, waiting to attack Hezekiah and Jerusalem. Then we descended into HEZEKIAH'S TUNNEL!!!!!!
The water was surprisingly warm and we waded through the water, feeling our way between the the roughly hewn tunnel. It was fun to turn off all the headlamps and trudge through in the dark.
I liked seeing the part where the two parts met--the tunnel veered a little bit.
I love Hezekiah! He inspires me.
