Well, it's a new month and a new leaf in the book of Sara. Technically this post was supposed to be published last night so as to be starting on the first day of August but you know how it goes. Anyway, I've decided that I'm going to be awesomer and write my adventures more on here. Otherwise, who knows? People might start thinking that I just stopped having adventures! And that would be a crime against humanity not to mention my raison d'être. Plus I decided that August would be an appropriate month to restart my life adventures because August is American Adventures Month (who knew??)!
Oh and because I was bored and I'm a wikipedia-mongerer like that, I read some other cool things about August last night. Did you know that in most years (minus leap years) no other month starts on the same day of the week as August? Way to be unique August. And August 21, 1959 Hawaii became the 50th state of the US! (I love Hawaii so much I had to put that there.) I think I’ll really celebrate that one with a luau.
Hmmm, what else? Oh yeah. August is the Happiness Happens Month, the Inventors' Month, National Immunization Awareness Month and Panini Month. So I've decided that I'm going to include those things in my life during the next 30 some-odd days. I'm going to make a panini, be happy, and invent a fantastic gadget.
Oh and I'll think about immunizations or something.
But my favorite event in August I'm too late for! It's this thing called the Pennsic War. It's this huge medieval reenactment/camping thing. And these two groups (the Kingdom of the East and the Middle Kingdom) have a "war" with full-on costumes and weapons and stuff from the Middle Ages. I think it's a must for next summer yes?
Last thing about August: its birth flower is the poppy which means beauty, strength of character, love, marriage and family (oh and possibly some bad witch from the West who might want to kill you). Not exactly the strength of my repertoire but I’m going to focus on those things.
